Worship band 1997-98 |
Ah, those were the days! It only lasted for a year before I had to move away, but it brings back happy memories! The band comprised: Robbie Griffith on funky keyboard, Jonathan on drums and electronic drum-pad, Malcolm and John Greening on guitar (we eventually persuaded John to play electric guitar); Matt Rowe on bass; Catherine Rowe and Bev Stephens on vocals; Jeremy on sound desk. We aimed for well rehearsed arrangements, with an out of the ordinary feel. And yes, to a degree we were performing, but that was to play to the best of our ability as an act of worship, and thus lead others in worship. The band continued for a while after John and I moved on. Some very interesting and foot-tapping arrangements emerged of classics such as
