Mission: Possible

Mission: Possible - Reviews

Today (1990): David Bedford

At last, a down-to-earth, readable book on being a mission-orientated church which does not fly off into deep theology but simply tells it as it is.

Malcolm Egner provides us with a resource to enable us 'to boldly go', and its anointing is evident because he has already 'boldly gone'! This hands-on book, with short chapters and helpful headings, makes it easily accessible for believers brought up in a non-book culture who want to be more fruitful.

The action sheets at the end of each chapter are key to equipping the Church for mission.

Why has our evangelism not been fruitful? How can we begin to reach people for Christ? What is necessary for me to be effective in witnessing? These questions and many more are faced in a biblical, envisioning and encouraging framework, which instills new confidence that the world can be won in this generation.

I strongly recommend this superb handbook which will inform and challenge your discussions on outreach in a biblical and godly way for years to come.

Into View (1993): Roy Crowne

This book provides a step-by-step approach to putting ideas in motion. It grapples with the basic principles of discipleship, mission evaluation and the on-going development of an evangelism strategy.

This is not the kind of book that leaves evangelism in the talking shop because it is practical and demands action.

At its core is the issue of who we want to reach and how we are to reach them.

It is essential reading for those committed to effective evangelism
