Now That I've Met YouThe last of my three four time compositions! The one that I felt worked best of them all. It tackles the issue of 'seeing is believing'. It all depends on what you mean by seeing!
The first time I met you I was out in the rain, There was something about you I could not explain, The love that I felt took me by surprise, A strange warm new feeling as you looked in my eyes, But oh the pain that I could see in you. I turned away, it was too much to bear, And when I looked back there was nobody there.
Now that I’ve met you, I know you’re for real, Though my eyes cannot see you, I believe that you’re here. I can see you in others, I can feel you in me, I’m surrounded by love whenever you’re near, To me.
Each time I saw you I could understand more, The meaning grew clearer as you opened the door, You’ve paid the ransom so I could be free, And enjoy all the life you intended for me, But oh the price it was too high for me. Oh, how could you suffer, how could you die? There’s more to this story than first meets the eye.
Now that I’ve met you…
Most folks would agree that you were a star, And all your admirers said you would go far, How they were saddened when you had to die, And people today still wonder why. But oh my Lord, I need mourn no more for you. You came back to life even after three days, And I know since I’ve met you, you’re alive today.
Now that I’ve met you…
Now that I’ve met you…
