Tree of LifeI was struck how a tree features at key points in the Biblical Story - the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden, along with the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. When Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the latter they were cast out of the Garden and that intimate relationship with God. Jesus was nailed to the product of a tree: the cross, and through his sacrifice humankind can be restored to that intimate relationship with God. Finally there is a tree in the city at the end of Revelation whose leaves are for the healing of the nations.
